CANopen® Industrial Communication Protocol
NXP industrial networking software for CANopen® enables standardized Controller Area Network (CAN)-based communication for embedded automation systems, robotics, motion control, distributed I/O and industrial control applications. Optimized for supported NXP devices, the CANopen protocol library implements CAN in Automation (CiA)-compliant communication services to help developers build interoperable CANopen devices using a flexible software architecture and industry-standard communication profiles.
The NXP Port Industrial Networking Suite includes a hardware-independent CANopen protocol stack, hardware-specific drivers and development tools that simplify migration across supported platforms while supporting long-term software maintenance and evolving industrial cybersecurity requirements, including the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
Developers can deploy CANopen on supported NXP devices through annual software licenses available from NXP's Pro Support.
