The NXP Battery Management Software (BMS) Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) Software Enablement Package accelerates development and testing of this solution on customer batteries. It includes an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) and BMU EIS firmware. Ideal for rapid prototyping and validation, it supports flexible excitation sources tailored to various battery configurations and system requirements.

Middleware Level Features
- Communications delay measurements (R2R), enables precise propagation delay measurements
- EIS measurement flow with software compensation manages the measurement sequence and applies dynamic corrections
- Advanced synchronization options - provide fine-grained timing control for coordinated measurements
- Battery-junction-box (BJB) frequency calibration ensures accurate frequency settings for impedance measurements
BMS SDK Level Features
- Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) coefficient calculation extracts said coefficients from user input parameters
- Current or voltage compensation corrects signal deviations for consistent and reliable results
- Complex impedance calculation computes the impedance values essential for battery diagnostics and modeling
- Transmission of EIS coefficients to battery cell controller (BCC) or BJB devices to enable downstream processing and integration
- Support for communication delay measurements on the BCC or BJB and gateway (GTW)
EIS GUI Features
- Configurable number of BCC devices from 1 to 12
- Excitation control for different excitation sources
- Nyquist plots for impedance measurements and additional debug information
