The EVSE-SIG-BRD2X and SIGBRD-HPGP EV charging signal boards deliver a seamless path to implementing ISO 15118 high level communication between the Electric Vehicles (EV) and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) using the Lumissil CG5317 HomePlug Green PHY.

EVSE-SIG-BRD2X

  • Enables ISO 15118 standard-based communication between vehicle and charging station
  • Incorporates LPC55S36 MCU for low-level communication, GPIO switching, relay drive, accurate metrology and functional safety libraries
  • Includes the TJA1021BT LIN transceiver for SAE J3068
  • Uses the TJA1044GT CAN transceiver
  • Includes the SJA1110 Ethernet switch to enable switching between several ethernet sources
  • Interconnects with NXP evaluation and development boards for i.MX 8 and 9 applications processors, i.MX RT106x Crossover MCUs, S32G automotive processors and S32K3 MCUs

Use the EVSE-SIG-BRD2X to demonstrate basic charging and high-level communication (ISO 15118) by sending data signals between an EV and EVSE host controller board. The EVSE-SIG-BRD2X board is compatible with EasyEVSE MPU‑based and MCU‑based development platforms.

SIGBRD-HPGP

  • Enables ISO 15118 standard-based communication between vehicle and charging station
  • Interfaces to the EVSE-EMETER for multiphase grid power and low-level communication to the EV for EVSE side operations
  • Uses the MCXA154VFT to support Control Pilot, Proximity Pilot, PWM and UART for the EV side
  • Includes the TJA1022T LIN transceiver for SAE J3068 for EV and EVSE side implementations
  • Includes the SJA1110C Ethernet switch to enable switching between several sources
  • Interconnects with NXP evaluation and development boards for i.MX 8 and 9 applications processors, i.MX RT106x Crossover MCU and S32G automotive processors

The SIGBRD-HPGP is designed with distinct configurations for EV and EVSE side applications. Combine the SIGBRD-HPGP with EVSE-EMETER board on the EVSE side to measure the gird voltage supplied to the EV with high accuracy and continuously monitor charging current and energy during a charging session between the EV and EVSE. Add the SIGBRD-HPGP board on the EV side for PLC communication between the EV and EVSE side. The SIGBRD‑HPGP board is compatible with EasyEVSE MPU‑based and MCU‑based development platforms.
