FlexGUI is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) software tool enabling easy and intuitive configuration and control of analog ICs on their evaluation boards (EVBs). It uses a USB port to interface with the evaluation boards. These boards include a small MCU to interface with the analog ICs via standard peripherals such as SPI, I²C, CAN, GPIO, ADC or timers.

FlexGUI based application supports several different ICs, which can be selected via the application launcher at startup. For each selected IC is available register map view for direct access, scripting environment and components for configuration and monitoring of functional blocks.

FlexGUI embedded Python 3 interpreter enables user to create custom scripts for specific use cases. Analog ICs and MCU are injected into the environment as singleton objects offering API for interaction with the HW. Additionally, user can leverage any Python language statements, built-in functions and types.

Choose Your Setup

  • Select EVB and analog ICs (family, model and revision)
  • Select EVB configuration preset (represents physical wiring, jumpers, and so on)
  • Select used MCU (on board, separate shield)

Explore Workspace

  • Scan for connected EVBs or use virtual board for simulation mode without HW
  • Configure MCU properties (SPI, GPIO, and so on)
  • Configure analog IC specific properties (operating modes, watchdog, and so on)
  • Detach tabs to leverage widescreen or multimonitor setups
  • Tweak behavior and layout to leverage available screen size

Configure and Monitor Analog ICs

  • Block diagrams for high-level configuration of functional blocks
  • Status and event reporting
  • Charts for measurements

Evaluate With Register Map

  • Navigate through register functional groups and search for registers
  • Display read and write values as raw hexadecimal values as well as individual bit fields and bit groups
  • Display user friendly configuration options for register values
  • Export selected register values into script editor to be used in custom scripts

Evaluate With Script Editor

  • Create custom Python scripts with access to EVB’s MCU and on-board analog ICs
  • Generate commands (function calls) for reading and writing of registers, GPIO values, CAN messages
  • Load and save scripts to share with others
  • Use quick launch (single click) for your preferred scripts
