The i.MX 93W microprocessor (MPU) brings high-performance compute and tri-radio connectivity to space-constrained industrial and IoT designs.
The demand for smarter, more connected edge devices is rising at an incredible pace. To help developers meet this challenge, NXP offers the i.MX 93W processor— our first integrated wireless MPU System-in-Package (SiP). By combining powerful compute, edge AI and tri-radio connectivity into a single, compact package, the i.MX 93W processor helps you build smaller, more efficient connected devices at the edge..
NXP resolves these gaps with the new i.MX 937 applications processor— smart and cost-efficient solution specifically designed to scale your automotive, industrial and IoT edge deployments. With a quad-core Arm® Cortex®A55 complex, a dedicated NXP eIQ® Neutron neural processor (NPU) and drop-in compatibility—with the i.MX 95 and i.MX 952 families—the i.MX 937 equips you to transform ambitious concepts into responsive, secure, cost- and power‑efficientedge products.
Why Choose i.MX 93W MPU?
Designers of connected edge devices face challenges when managing design complexity and time-to-market. Traditional "chip-down" wireless designs require months of painstaking RF tuning, complex board layouts and grueling regulatory approval cycles that all come at extreme costs. This complexity often leads to a bloated bill-of-materials (BOM) and significant supply chain risk..

With the i.MX 93W processor, NXP delivers a system-level solution that works to clear barriers to design. It brings high-performance compute and robust connectivity into a 14.2 x 12 mm package so your next design can be smaller, smarter and ready for the global market sooner.
Compute and Connectivity in One Package
The i.MX 93W processor brings powerful compute to the edge with a 1.7 GHz dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A55 applications processor alongside a 250 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 control core. For Edge AI, we integrated an Arm® Ethos™-U65 neural processor (NPU) capable of up to 1.8 equivalent TOPs (or eTOPS) eTOPS to support local machine learning tasks such as voice recognition and anomaly detection. eTOPS is a metric based on the average performance of the device in relation to the i.MX 8M Plus applications processor across multiple benchmarks. For your connected devices to stay secure, the i.MX 93W processor features the EdgeLock® Secure Enclave to handle complex security functions without requiring domain expertise.
Meanwhile, the integrated tri-radio subsystem supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth® LE 5.4 and 802.15.4 (Thread/Zigbee). Most importantly, it includes all the external radio components needed to support wireless connectivity, replacing up to 60 discrete components. By consolidating these components into one package, the i.MX 93W processor reduces printed circuit board (PCB)area compared to traditional discrete designs. This reduction in footprint equips designers pack more intelligence into otherwise space-constrained applications.

Slashing the Time and Costs of Wireless Certification
Navigating global wireless certifications is often a major obstacle in bringing connected devices to marketin many cases taking up to nine months while costing organizations more than $100,000. The i.MX 93W processor breaks this cycle by pre-integrating all required radio components to unlock modular-level certification.
The i.MX 93W processor pre-integrates all the necessary external radio components.
Specifically, we provide pre-certified single and dual-antenna reference designs that are compliant in eight countries and regions. By leveraging these designs, you can:
- Shrink your RF/HW development cycle from nine months to just three months
- Reduce certification costs
- Simplify certification efforts with our modular certification for USA (FCC), Canada (ISED), Europe (CE) and Japan (MIC) regions
Bringing Efficiency to Your Supply Chain
In a complex global market, a simpler supply chain is a competitive advantage.
One way the i.MX 93W processor delivers this advantage is by consolidating wireless components to massively reduce the BOM. With fewer components to source, organizations are less vulnerable to supply chain fluctuations and can spend less time and effort managing inventory and suppliers.
Meanwhile, the i.MX 93W processor is fully software compatible with the standard i.MX 93 applications processor and IW610 tri-radio so designers can easily migrate from existing designs to new ones. This system-level approach provides the peace of mind that comes with single-source support as both your compute and wireless subsystems are sold and supported through one standard sales channel. With pre-validated integration, your team can reduce the burden of reworking hardware and increase focus on product differentiation.
