The NTAG I²C was the first product of NXP’s NTAG family offering both contactless and contact interface. Meanwhile NTAG I²C plus, which is fully backward compatible, but with an extended feature set and improved interoperability is available. For new projects, NXP recommends using NTAG I²C plus.
