The clock is ticking. After December 11, 2027, every product sold in Europe must comply with the CRA, which imposes requirements across the entire lifecycle—from first boot to decommissioning. OEMs must design for today’s security and future challenges, including planning for post-quantum cryptography (PQC).
Devices must support Secure Boot to allow only trusted firmware and receive authentic, unaltered updates from trusted sources. While code signing is the gold standard, manual processes, siloed tools, and unprotected keys remain major risks for organizations preparing to meet CRA compliance.
