The FS0400A0EVM is the customer evaluation board made for the FS04 power management integrated circuit (PMIC). It integrates all the hardware required to fully evaluate the FS04 device. The board includes a communication bridge based on the FRDM-KL25Z development platform, enabling seamless connection to the FS04 graphical user interface (GUI) software for configuration, control and diagnostics. The FS0400A0EVM also includes two PF53 PMICs to support system-level evaluation and to demonstrate typical FS04-based power architectures.

  • FRDM-KL25Z microcontroller (MCU) plugged allows easy connection to software GUI providing access to:
    • I²C bus
    • I/Os
    • Register access
    • OTP emulation
    • OTP programming

Power Management

  • Battery voltage (VBAT) power supply connectors
  • VPRE output: 3.3 V to 5.3 V, up to 20 A
  • VPRE output: 4.5 V to 5.5 V up to 1 A
  • BUCK1 and BUCK2 outputs: 1.0 V to 1.8 V up to 2.5 A
  • BUCK3 and BUCK4 outputs: 0.4 V to 1.8 V up to 2.5 A
  • LDO1 output: 1.0 V to 4.1 V up to 400 mA

General Specifications

  • Battery switch and ideal diode
  • General-purpose input/outputs (GPIOs)
  • Safety pins: Power good (PGOOD), fail-safe output (FSOB), reset (RSTB), fault collection and control unit (FCCU) and power-on reset request (POR-REQ)
  • Standby pins for low-power operation

  • Manual or Automated one-time programmable (OTP) fuse programming
  • Connectors for easy access to digital signals
