The MC33690 is a Standalone Tag Reader Circuit (STARC), integrated as a circuit dedicated to the automotive immobilizer applications. The MC33690 combines all the circuitry on the same chip to an interface with a transponder: antenna drivers and demodulator. A low dropout voltage regulator and physical interface, fully compatible with ISO 9141 are also available. The MC33690 is fabricated with the SMARTMOS^® 3.5 technology. This process is a double layer metal, 1.4 um, 45 V technology, combining CMOS and bipolar devices.
