Gym Reimbursement
NXP is committed to helping you live a healthier lifestyle and provides a gym reimbursement of $240 per year. Use it to cover the cost of fitness activities, exercise classes or a gym membership.
Annual Gym Reimbursement
You are eligible to receive up to $240 (less applicable taxes) per year for gym reimbursement toward achieving good health. Even if you waive NXP medical benefits, you are still eligible for this benefit. Participation in approved fitness, sports or health education-related activities must provide the opportunity to improve these elements of health-related physical fitness: Cardiovascular endurance, body composition and musculoskeletal fitness.

Eligible Reimbursement Activities
Fitness Center outside of an on-site Activity Center - Membership fees are the Fitness Center expense eligible for reimbursement. Examples:
- YMCA
- EOS Fitness
- Lifetime Fitness
- LA Fitness
- Beach Body Subscription
- Mountainside Fitness
- Planet Fitness
- Crunch Fitness
- Peloton subscription
- 24 Hour Fitness
- Gold’s Gym
- Orange Theory
- Apple Fitness+ subscription
Approved community fitness, sports or health education-related activities are eligible for reimbursement. Examples:
- Aerobics classes
- Stretching classes
- Yoga classes
- Pilates classes
- Barre classes
- Martial Arts/ kickboxing classes
- Swimming classes
- Spinning/ cycling classes
- CrossFit
- F45
- Boot camps
- Personal training
- Golf lessons
Health Education related activity examples:
- Cardiovascular health classes
- Cancer prevention classes
- CPR and first aid training
- Stress management classes - Meditation
- Tobacco cessation programs
- Weight management programs - Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers
Ineligible Reimbursement Activities
Expenses for items such as health food and supplements, sports apparel and sports equipment are not eligible for reimbursement. Sports that are considered high-risk activities are not eligible for reimbursement. Ineligible expense examples:
- Sports equipment (bikes, treadmills, free-weights etc.)
- Locker rentals
- Equipment rentals
- Food and supplements
- Athletic apparel
- Snowboarding / skiing
- Skydiving
- Massage
- Horseback riding
- Physical therapy
- Rock Climbing
Submit a Reimbursement Request
If you join a fitness center or participate in other eligible gym activities, you can pay up front and then submit a reimbursement request. Submit your request by completing the following steps:
- Download and fill out the Gym Reimbursement Form [English] .
- Gym receipts must have Full Name of the employee, Name of the Gym, Date of service, Description of service and the total amount.
- Gym reimbursement is paid to NXP employees and hence, the amount will get divided in case of joint/group membership.
- Employees must submit the payment receipts to claim Gym reimbursement and not the transaction history or bank statement, etc.
- Employees must be active as of the date the payment is to occur.
- Scan in the completed form and email it as an attachment along with a copy of your claim to hr.helpdesk.amr@nxp.com.
- Keep a copy of the receipt(s) for your records The amount reimbursed is considered taxable income to you and is reported on your IRS Form W-2. You will receive reimbursement through Payroll within two pay cycles from the date the claim was approved. Your request for reimbursement must be made by January 31 of the following year.
